360/OPEN SUMMIT: THE WORLD IN MOTION - DOCUMENTING JANUARY 6 - The attack on the US Capitol on January 6 was not spontaneous; it was posted in plain sight on social media platforms and online forums, and was designed to convince more Americans of falsehoods about the 2020 elections. The Stop the Steal movement was far from monolithic though and included groups across a spectrum of radicalization, from militia members to ideological members of the far-right. Resident fellow Jared Holt will discuss his research tracking this movement over the course of the election period, explaining how different groups converged around the volatile events of 2020 to mobilize to the capitol.
