REPORTERS AT RISK: HOW EDITORS BALANCE COVERING WAR WITH PROTECTING JOURNALISTS - Join the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht National Security Resilience Initiative for a conversation from leading journalists and editors on the challenges that both face in an increasingly fraught global media landscape and the importance of building resilience.
Reporters at risk: Editors’ perspectives will highlight the experience of journalists and editors working in and reporting from conflict zones as they work to communicate on-the-ground realities. It will feature both reporters and editors in discussion on the risks and challenges they face and how reporters and editors work together to protect their safety and resilience during the moment of crisis and beyond. A central focus of the conversation will be on why it is vital to cover conflicts, despite the significant risks.
This discussion is part of the Reporters at risk series hosted by the Adrienne Arsht National Security Resilience Initiative. This event series conveys the stakes and sacrifices that correspondents undertake to deliver the news. Often stationed on the frontlines of crisis and conflict, correspondents face physical, psychological, and political threats across assignments and over the course of their careers, including harassment, violence, imprisonment, and more.
