REPORT LAUNCH: HOW THE WEST LOST THE POST-COLD WAR ERA - Join the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center as it launches Russian illusions: How the West lost the post-Cold War era, a new report examining the “thirty-year crisis” in relations between Russia and the West, from the Cold War’s end in 1992 to Moscow’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Author Brian Whitmore’s deeply researched report explores why the United States and the West fundamentally misunderstood the nature and intentions of post-Soviet Russia and what this means for transatlantic security and global stability.
Eurasia Center Senior Director John Herbst, a former US ambassador to Ukraine, will moderate an in-person panel discussion on the lessons from the post-Cold War period and what the United States and its allies can do to counter Russian revanchism today.
