In the Summer of 2022 the Atlantic Council established the Commission on Defense Innovation Adoption to better enable the Department of Defense to rapidly absorb new technologies and develop new capabilities at scale.
Co-chaired by 27th US Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper and 23rd US Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James and comprised of a distinguished group of Commissioners; the Commission is releasing its final report with ten recommendations and eight case studies aimed at overcoming bureaucratic and cultural barriers to harnessing available dual-use technologies and moving with speed to assure the US military’s qualitative edge over its competitors.
This video, featuring the co-chairs and members of the Commission, helps explain the key findings of the Commission’s report and their implications for policy.
