US-CHINA TECH WAR — While the US has long been the dominant force in breakthrough technologies and innovation, China has transformed itself into a formidable challenger. In order for the US to retain its technological advantage over Beijing while also competing alongside its allies and partners, the Atlantic Council's Peter Engelke and Emily Weinstein recommend a strategy centered around three key elements: “protect, promote, and coordinate.”
The strategy is presented in the Global Strategy 2023 report by the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security in partnership with the Global China Hub.
