REPORT LAUNCH: ANALYZING STAGNATION AND MILITARIZATION IN THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY - Join the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center for an event launching the newest report in its pathbreaking “Russia Tomorrow” series on the current state of the Russian economy.
In the newest “Russia Tomorrow” report, entitled “Russian economy in 2025: Between stagnation and militarization,” authors Elina Ribakova, a nonresident senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and Lucas Risinger, a sanctions analyst and nonresident research fellow at the Kyiv School of Economics, examine where the Russian economy currently stands amid three key wartime developments: growing dependence on China, the prioritization of the defense sector, and the uneven effects of the war on poorer regions.
John Herbst, senior director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, moderates the discussion on the precariousness of Russia’s wartime economy.
