UKRAINE’S DRONE INDUSTRY AND THE CHALLENGE OF WARTIME SUPPLY CHAINS - Join the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center for an event examining the evolution and sustainability of Ukraine’s wartime drone production and its implications for NATO readiness.
Ukraine’s growing UAV industry and battlefield ingenuity gave it an early edge against Russia’s aggression, but Moscow’s electronic warfare has proved effective against drones as well. Still, innovation remains constant on both sides. The battlespace now shifts in days and weeks, not months and years. But at the same time, Ukraine relies on Chinese components, opening it up to supply chain dependencies and exploitation by Beijing. Resilient innovation and supply chains matter, not only for Ukraine but also for NATO and the United States, who are looking to boost defense production to counter an increasingly aggressive Kremlin.
This event will take a close look at these issues and will explore a new report by the Snake Island Institute, Building the arsenal: Securing the components to sustain combat power, plus first-hand knowledge of drone innovation from the battlefield.
