06-Sep-2023
Kenneth Wainstein, Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the US Department of Homeland Security, spoke to the Atlantic Council about the current challenges facing the homeland security intelligence enterprise, including the threat posed by China.
"The PRC, the government, has aggressively employed a whole-of-government approach to undercut US competitiveness and democracy, methodically targeting each of our industries to try to steal our innovations, amplifying narratives publicly that sow doubt in our institutions and even targeting messaging, negative messaging campaigns against US politicians," he said.
He spoke at an event hosted by the Atlantic Council's Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, moderated by Ellen Gilmer from Bloomberg Government.
