Unlocking Development in Latin America and the Caribbean
26-Jun-2023
As Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) navigate economic headwinds in a challenging fiscal context, the private sector’s role in driving growth and recovery is more important than ever. Multinational companies stand ready to support high-quality development in the region through employment, financing, know-how, innovation, and partnerships. But how can governments, multilateral development organizations, and other stakeholders better understand, catalyze, and leverage such support?
To this end, the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center—in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank—conducted a series of surveys, interviews, and research on the private sector’s view on critical development opportunities and concerns in LAC.
What role can the private sector play in bringing LAC’s economies closer together through trade, regulatory, and other integration? How can the region transform its digital potential into development, governance, transparency, and equity gains? Can LAC become a global leader in advancing green and climate agendas? And what precisely should companies do to seize on these opportunities and support the region’s journey toward inclusive and sustainable development and long-term prosperity?
Join the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center for a conversation on pathways for the private sector to boost regional development across Latin America and the Caribbean.
This event also launches the Center’s latest report that identifies and spotlights five opportunities whereby the private sector can drive economic prosperity, sustainable development, and social progress in LAC.
