Using Juneteenth to reflect on "freedom, justice and equality for all"
18-Jun-2024
"Juneteenth is an important date because it allows us to reflect on freedom, equality, and justice for all," said Mary Elliott, Curator of American Slavery at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.
"...when you use the word, inclusive, inclusive means all the people impacted by this, all the people who went into fighting for this," she continued.
She made these remarks during an event held at the Atlantic Council headquarters in Washington, DC.
