Hana Brixi, the World Bank's Global Director for Gender, discussed the economic costs of gender-based violence and its impact on women's participation in the labor force during the IMF-World Bank meetings in Marrakesh.

"We see from data that women in many countries around the world are citing gender-based violence (...) as the key deterrence for them when it comes to their participation in the labor force or their ability to move to more productive jobs," she said.
