China is preparing for the most important meeting of the year, with Third Plenum of the Communist Party’s Central Committee beginning on July 15.
And while the party is touting investments in cutting-edge technologies, Jeremy Mark, a senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center, writes that in the process, Beijing is failing to address economic challenges or to invest in social programs “to support the vast majority of the population who scrape by outside the tech sector.”
