ALLIES: TWENTY-SEVEN BOLD IDEAS TO REIMAGINE THE US-COLOMBIA RELATIONSHIP - On June 19, 2022, the United States and Colombia celebrated two hundred years of bilateral relations. In the past two decades, the US-Colombia partnership has safeguarded key US interests in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and positioned Colombia as an increasingly prosperous democracy. As the bicentennial of the bilateral relationship approached, the United States and Colombia had a unique opportunity to come together to define what the US-Colombia partnership could accomplish for years to come.
The Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center and the Wilson Center’s Latin American Program hosted on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, a public discussion on the future of US-Colombia ties. The event also launched the Center’s first book, "Allies: Twenty-Seven Bold Ideas to Reimagine the US-Colombia Relationship."
