In a special edition of #ACFrontPage celebrating LGBTQI+ Pride Month, USAID Administrator Samantha Power engaged in an enlightening conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jonathan Capehart. She denounced Uganda's recent Anti-Homosexuality Act, emphasizing the adverse effects it has had on USAID-supported services in the country.
"President Biden was very clear that the law should be repealed," she said. "Service utilization is down by more than 60 percent since the law was introduced—and that’s people who are afraid of coming forward for vital health services because they’re afraid it could lead to their arrest."
