President of Guyana Irfaan Ali spoke to the Atlantic Council about the country's emerging role as a leader on food security, energy, and climate change issues, ahead of COP28 in November.

"COP28, first of all, begins with us now agreeing to have a balanced conversation, agreeing to bring all the stakeholders around the table, agreeing to the tough discussions with each other, not against each other. We cannot achieve net zero if we're arguing against each other," he said.

He spoke at an #ACFrontPage event moderated by Zeba Warsi, PBS NewsHour's Foreign Affairs Producer, and hosted by the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center's Caribbean Initiative.
