Prime Minister Kaja Kallas of Estonia spoke to the Atlantic Council about the defense, security, and global dimensions of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, during the 2023 EU-US Defense and Future Forum.
"Russia wants to redraw the map of Europe, including by reestablishing spheres of influence and recreating buffer zones," she said. "In order for a country to become better, it must lose its last imperial war. The European Union came about because Europeans lost their colonial wars. Now it's Russia's turn."
