THE PENTAGON’S MICHAEL CADENAZZI ON REVITALIZING THE DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL BASE - Join the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security’s Forward Defense program for a Stewards of Industrial Policy address with The Hon. Michael Cadenazzi, assistant secretary of war for industrial base policy, on his vision for the future of the defense industrial base and the Pentagon’s efforts to reform acquisition policies.

The Pentagon is undertaking a significant acquisition reform effort with leadership calling for improving the acquisition system’s speed, competitive ability, and integration of emerging technologies—all to help the United States outpace and deter adversaries. As part of this shift, the Pentagon issued three memorandums and, recently, an Acquisition Transformation Strategy, which details the department’s goals in redefining requirements generation, streamlining defense sales, and industrial base renewal.

At this event, Cadenazzi will give an address on his vision for the future of the defense industrial base, the Pentagon’s approach to acquisition, and the role of his office in acquisition reform.
