THE IMF’S DAN KATZ ON STABLECOINS, TOKENIZATION, AND CROSS-BORDER PAYMENTS - Join the Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center for a conversation with Dan Katz, first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This event will focus on the rapidly evolving future of finance, from the expanding role of stablecoins to the emergence of asset tokenization and the broader implications for cross-border payments and countries’ policies.
As digital payment systems gain traction and sovereign and private digital monies move from concept to deployment, the IMF stands at the center of the policy debate. The IMF aims to ensure the smooth functioning of the international monetary system, engage with members on modernization of their payment systems, and provide guidance to countries on how to mitigate emerging risks.
Katz will offer the IMF’s perspective on what digital money means for monetary sovereignty, capital flows, and financial stability.
