CZECH PRESIDENT PETR PAVEL ON NEXT STEPS FOR US-EU COOPERATION POST-NATO SUMMIT - Czechia has become a leader in the transatlantic community and a steadfast supporter of Ukraine. As part of their support, Czech leaders have advocated for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration, with officials such as Pavel calling for an expedited path towards NATO integration—a issue high on the agenda at the NATO Summit in Washington. Czechia has also taken a firm stance against Chinese assertiveness, as the war in Ukraine raises questions about Taiwan’s security and broader global stability.
Both the European Union and United States have held or will hold elections in 2024 that will shape the transatlantic partnership and its outlook on evolving global crises. In addition to sharing his vision for supporting Ukraine and securing Europe’s eastern front, Pavel also discussed combating Chinese influence, among other topics.
This event took place in partnership with Jagello 2000, and was preceded by an experts panel on the steps needed to strengthen the alliance.
