SERVING COMMUNITIES WITH DISABILITY IN CONFLICT CONTEXTS - In 2022, the Syrian American Medical Society completed its first long-term research project on disability and accessibility at its facilities across northwest Syria, which included surveying both its staff and beneficiaries. The discussion features a distinguished group of experts who provide a comprehensive overview of this study and how it can be applied to other conflict settings.
The event offers an in-depth analysis of the most current barriers to accessibility in Syria and whether or not these findings are consistent with accessibility challenges in other conflict or post-conflict contexts. It also explores key recommendations on how international actors and disability-focused organizations can effectively address these hurdles.
