THE CHUCK HAGEL FORUM IN GLOBAL LEADERSHIP - Former US Secretary of Homeland Security and former Governor of Arizona Janet Napolitano discussed the role of US leadership in a changing world with former US secretary of defense and former US senator from Nebraska, and University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) alumnus, Chuck Hagel.
The 2022 event was the fourth installment of the Chuck Hagel Forum in Global Leadership series. The series debuted at UNO in 2019 with a discussion between Secretary Hagel and then-former US Vice President Joe Biden on pressing global issues. In 2020, the event featured former US Secretary of State John Kerry, and the 2021 forum hosted former US Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge.
This year’s forum was hosted in partnership with the Atlantic Council, featuring opening remarks by Napolitano followed by a discussion with her and Hagel moderated by Jody Neathery-Castro, Ph.D., an associate professor of political science and former department chair of political science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
This event series explores critical issues with global leaders in search of solutions to today’s global challenges. The Chuck Hagel Forum in Global Leadership provides an opportunity to engage with Hagel and other global leaders, policymakers, and thinkers.
