Rama Yade featuring H.E. Mr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, Vice President of the Republic of Malawi, following his visit to Washington, DC, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. The event focused on Malawi’s democratic progress in a country where President Lazarus Chakwera was regarded as a champion of democracy in 2020, exploring its strategy for diversifying the economy in an uncertain international context, and advancing Malawi’s new rare earth mine: the Songwe Hill Mine project. The Vice President shared his thoughts on the opportunities and challenges faced by his country and his expectations from US and multilateral partners.
