REIMAGINING A WAY FORWARD: IRAQ’S ECONOMY AND ENERGY SECTOR IN THE POST-INVASION ERA - The Atlantic Council’s Iraq Initiative invites you to a hybrid panel discussion on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm ET featuring distinguished speakers and experts examining the state of Iraq’s economy and energy sector over the past two decades and assessing its progress and future trajectory.
The US invasion of Iraq in 2003 ushered in a new era of political and economic change in the country. Iraq has made significant progress since in rebuilding its economy and energy sector despite facing various challenges such as corruption, political instability, and conflict. Marking the twentieth anniversary of this landmark event, it is essential to take stock of Iraq’s current economic and energy landscape, the progress that has been made, and the way forward.
This conversation will take place at the Atlantic Council’s headquarters and be broadcast on Zoom, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. Please register below to attend in person or to join us virtually. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with information on how to attend. The event is open to the press and on-the-record.
This event is made possible by the generous support of Crescent Petroleum, a sponsor of the Atlantic Council’s Iraq Initiative and Global Energy Center, and general funds made available to the Middle East Programs.
