THE FUTURE OF US COUNTERTERRORISM POLICY - The Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative, as part of its Counterterrorism Project, will host a hybrid all-day conference featuring a variety of current and former national security professionals who will address the current and emerging terrorism challenges facing the United States and its allies.
More than twenty-three years after 9/11, terrorist actors continue to proliferate and evolve, threatening the United States and its allies across the world. But Washington is prone to drastic swings in the threat of terrorism—exaggerating it immediately after a major attack while otherwise neglecting it. This conference will address those policy shortcomings by offering an in-depth look at the future of terrorism.
