President Trump has said he wants to "take back" the Panama Canal, saying in his inaugural address that it is operated by China and should be operated by the US.
The Canal is overseen by the Panama Canal Authority, whose administrator is Ricaurte (Catin) Vásquez, and the Atlantic Council's Jason Marczak went to Panama to speak to Vásquez and find out how the Canal operates, how fees are set, and what role China plays.
