THE OIL AND GAS EMISSIONS IMPERATIVE SETTING A NEW COURSE TO ENABLE NET-ZERO EMISSION - The oil and gas industry will need to continue to meet energy needs while the economy transitions to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. However, the industry must take on a new role in the energy sector going forward, committing to both lowering emissions from its operations and providing decarbonization solutions to customers to reduce emissions throughout the economy. Reconciling the dual roles of the oil and gas industry going forward will require creative and adaptive strategies for finance, investment, and planning. What actions should the industry take to accelerate the transition to net zero? How will the industry be able to complement the broader energy transition?
