FINANCIAL STABILITY BOARD’S JOHN SCHINDLER ON THE PROGNOSIS FOR MULTILATERALISM - Join the Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center for a conversation with John Schindler, secretary general of the Financial Stability Board (FSB). The event will feature a keynote address from Schindler on the future of multilateralism.
Created by the Group of Twenty (G20) in 2009 at the height of the global financial crisis, the FSB plays a central role in identifying vulnerabilities in the international financial system and proposing actions to address them. Today, multilateral institutions such as the FSB and G20 face mounting pressure to adapt to a shifting global order shaped by economic competition, geopolitical instability, and rapid technological change.
As digital assets reshape payments and banking, artificial intelligence adoption accelerates across the financial sector, and systemic vulnerabilities persist, Schindler will discuss why international cooperation remains important and how organizations such as the FSB can respond.
