The Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center and GeoEconomics Center, in partnership with the Mastercard Policy Center for the Digital Economy hosted a roundtable discussion on the governance agenda for a digital-first future.

The roundtable explored the emerging World Bank governance agenda against a backdrop of accelerating digitization. With the rise of “government as a platform,” how will the World Bank’s governance agenda adapt to reflect dynamics of the digital economy, including issues of privacy, cybersecurity, transparency, consumer protection, and sustainability?

This event was part of the Atlantic Council’s IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings event series that convened Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the global economy in 2023.
