UNPACKING THE PEACE TALKS TO END RUSSIAN AGGRESSION IN UKRAINE - Last week’s surprising leak of a draft peace plan negotiated between the United States and Russia, which may have had Ukrainian input, jump-started previously stalled negotiations on a peace settlement. European leaders and US congressional members have spoken out against significant elements of the plan, which appear to hand major concessions to the Kremlin. Ukraine has continued to work toward a lasting peace through negotiations with its US partners. While the Trump administration initially sought Ukrainian agreement by Thanksgiving, the Geneva talks with the United States, Ukraine, and Europeans seem to have made progress.
