CAN EUROPE GET COMPETITIVE? INSIGHTS FROM MARIO DRAGHI’S COMPETITIVENESS REPORT - As the new European Commission will soon take office, Brussels faces increased pressure from isolationist trends in the global economy, competition with the United States and China, and the economic challenges posed by the twin green and digital transitions. In this critical election year, competitiveness has come to the forefront of policy debates on both sides of the Atlantic. Against this backdrop, the publication of the Commission-mandated report by Mario Draghi, former prime minister of Italy and former president of the European Central Bank, offers key insights into how Europe can navigate this complex landscape.

The Europe Center hosts an expert panel to discuss the findings of Mario Draghi’s report and assess the future of the EU’s policymaking on competitiveness amidst shifts in the geopolitical and economic landscape in Europe and around the globe.

This event is part of the Atlantic Council Europe Center’s Transatlantic Horizons Series, which seeks to outline a productive relationship for the United States and Europe for 2025 and beyond.
