Fostering US-Taiwan co-production
A CROSS-STRAIT AND BEYOND SEMINAR: FOSTERING US-TAIWAN CO-PRODUCTION - Please join the Indo-Pacific Security Initiative (IPSI) of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security for a virtual seminar on US-Taiwan defense co-production.
This event is part of IPSI’s Cross-Strait and Beyond Seminar Series, which informs the public debate on key issues for Taiwan and the United States, held in partnership with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO).
Taiwan’s indigenous defense industry has grown significantly in recent years, but increasing gray-zone aggression from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has placed urgent demands on Taipei to enhance its military capabilities and security apparatus. The United States and Taiwan could both stand to benefit from expanded defense industrial cooperation, including the co-production of weapons systems, munitions, and defense technology. This virtual seminar will consider key obstacles to US-Taiwan co-production, as well as opportunities and recommendations for cooperation on defense industry and innovation. The virtual audience will be able to submit questions and comments to the speakers during this moderated session.
