A fireside chat on US global leadership and priorities with Assistant Secretary Rand
ADVANCING DEMOCRACY: A FIRESIDE CHAT ON US GLOBAL LEADERSHIP AND PRIORITIES WITH ASSISTANT SECRETARY RAND - Please join the Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center and the International Republican Institute (IRI) for a fireside chat with Dafna Rand, PhD, the newly confirmed Assistant Secretary of State of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), on the Biden administration’s democracy agenda and the bureau’s priorities.
Supporting democracy in developing countries advances US national security because people are more secure and prosperous with a world that is free and open. The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor at the State Department is central to American efforts to advance freedom and democracy overseas.
The fireside style chat will be moderated by Patrick Quirk, vice president for strategy, innovation, and impact at IRI and nonresident senior fellow for freedom and democracy with the Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center. Opening remarks will be given by Jenna Ben-Yehuda, executive vice president of the Atlantic Council.
