A CONVERSATION WITH THE RT. HON. GRANT SHAPPS MP - The Atlantic Council's Europe Center and Global Energy Center hosted a conversation with The Right Honorable Grant Shapps MP, UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, in Washington, DC.

Secretary Shapps spoke about the priorities of the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero for implementing the Powering Up Britain package and the department’s Industrial Decarbonization Challenge, which aims to support industrial clusters to decarbonize at scale. The secretary also discussed the UK’s perspective on renewable energy deployment, energy sanctions on Russia, and support for Ukraine’s energy sector. Ambassador Richard Morningstar, founding chairman of the Global Energy Center, moderated the conversation.
