THE GEOPOLITICS OF TRANSATLANTIC POLICYMAKING ON AI - Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies continue to evolve at an increasingly rapid pace, and so too does the global race to regulate the use and development of AI. This effort carries with it immense economic and geopolitical implications with competing powers offering their own visions of this generation-defining technology.
As Europe and the United States develop their own approaches on AI regulation, questions remain on prospects for transatlantic cooperation and agenda-setting in the global debate, particularly as China advances its technological capabilities and pushes forward its own AI proposal.
Against this backdrop, we unpack where the global regulatory debate is headed and opportunities and challenges for transatlantic cooperation.
