AMBASSADORS SALAZAR & MOCTEZUMA ON US-MEXICO PRIORITIES: MIGRATION, ENERGY, SECURITY & BEYOND - Always important, strong US-Mexico ties are even more imperative as the world reels from the implications of Russia’s war in Ukraine. Our ties extend from cooperation on reducing unauthorized migrant flows to enhancing shared security and ensuring the resilience of US-Mexico commerce. At the same time, the energy reform currently being debated in the Mexican Congress would have implications for the country’s future energy trajectory and associated investments.
Following a five-year hiatus, the North American Leaders’ Summit in November reaffirmed the opportunities that come with alignment in North America and the US-Mexico relationship. Where do the United States and Mexico currently stand on consensus around top issues for the bilateral agenda?
