UNPACKING THE BRAZILIAN ELECTIONS - Join the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center for a virtual discussion unpacking the results of Brazil’s first round of elections and the country’s path forward.
On October 4, Brazilians will vote for president, governors, senators, and federal and state or district representatives. The day after the vote, this conversation will take stock of the electoral results and examine what they reveal about Brazil’s political landscape and the priorities that will shape the country’s next government. Experts will discuss economic policy and fiscal sustainability, investment and the business environment, public security, and relations among Brazil’s institutions, as well as what the election may mean for Brazil’s role in Latin America and its relationships with key international partners including the United States.
Bringing together perspectives from Brazilian politics, economics, business, and international media, the discussion will provide an early assessment of the forces shaping Brazil’s next political chapter and the challenges and opportunities that will confront the incoming government.
