ELECTIONS 2024: CONGRESSMAN MIKE TURNER ON GEOPOLITICS AND THE NEXT US PRESIDENT - Since World War II, the United States has played a leading role on the world stage. Now, the United States confronts major challenges across the globe—from competition with an increasingly aggressive China and revisionist Russia, to widening conflict in the Middle East, to worldwide economic turbulence and uncertainty around energy sources and global trade. In this pivotal period, it is vital that the next commander-in-chief has a clear, long-term strategy for national security and prosperity.
Ahead of the 2024 election, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence joined the Atlantic Council to discuss how a potential second Trump presidency and Republican Congress might address critical global issues. Turner spoke to Atlantic Council President and CEO Frederick Kempe about the United States’ role in great-power competition and steps to achieving a stable and prosperous global economy.
